About

About USNewsExplained

USNewsExplained delivers clear, timely and responsible coverage of major U.S. news, sports, entertainment and stories people are following now.

Our goal is to explain what happened, why it matters and what readers should watch next. We distinguish confirmed facts from developing reports and update stories when reliable new information becomes available.

USNewsExplained is an independent informational publication. We encourage readers to consult primary sources and official announcements when making important decisions.

How this site is produced

  • This site is run by two people, not a newsroom. There is no staff of writers.
  • AI tools are used for research and for drafting. Every article is checked before it goes up: each figure is traced back to its original source — government agencies, courts, official statistics and primary documents — and those sources are linked in the article so you can check them yourself.
  • We do not write about experiences we have not had. Where an article makes a judgement call, it is written as a judgement, with the evidence beside it.
  • Prices, specifications and rules change. Each article states the date its figures were checked.
  • Found an error? Write to deh6675@gmail.com. Corrections are made on the page itself, and the page says that it was corrected.

Start Here: Current News and Follow-Ups

Begin with the latest verified overview, then follow updates and practical next steps.

Developing stories include an Updated time and official information.

Editorial and Review Policy

We prioritize helpful, original guidance written for readers. Time-sensitive facts are checked against official or primary sources whenever available, and confirmed information is clearly separated from estimates, opinions and unverified claims.

  • Dates, prices, specifications, measurements and other numbers include their reference date, unit and relevant conditions.
  • Practical guides should include reproducible steps, calculations, comparisons, screenshots or checklists when they materially help the reader.
  • Articles display an Updated or Last reviewed note only after a meaningful factual review or substantive revision. Dates are not changed merely to make older content appear new.
  • Corrections and important new information are added to the existing article when that better serves readers than publishing a duplicate.
  • Images must have a verified license or official usage permission, a descriptive ALT text and a useful caption.

Readers may use the Contact page to report a possible error or outdated source.

Editorial standards

Accuracy comes before speed. Breaking-news claims, deaths, emergencies and public-safety information are checked against an official statement and, when available, at least one additional reliable source. Articles show the verification or update date, distinguish confirmed facts from analysis, and record material corrections. Licensed and public-domain images are credited.

Last policy review: August 26, 2026.
